Carlos Arocha has over 25 years’ experience in the global re/insurance industry. Carlos focuses on quantitative risk modeling, Solvency II advisory services, IFRS 17 implementation projects, Appointed Actuary consulting mandates, development and validation of internal risk models, reinsurance optimization programs and miscellaneous enterprise risk management projects. Since 2011, Carlos has been Managing Partner of Arocha & Associates, an actuarial consulting firm based in Zurich. Carlos has worked in companies such as Swiss Re, Mercantile & General Re, Watson-Wyatt (now Towers Watson) and Hewitt Associates (now Aon Hewitt), in Mexico, the United States, Canada, and Switzerland. Carlos is Ambassador of the Society of Actuaries in Switzerland, and member of the Latin America Committee. He is a mentor at the Integrated Projects Course, Master of Actuarial Science at Columbia University, New York, and mentor at Actuaries Without Borders, a section of the International Actuarial Association. Carlos earned a BSc in Actuarial Science from Anahuac University, Mexico City, is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, and a Member of the Swiss Association of Actuaries.
